Professional Highlights:
Thomas Creek received a Bachelor of Music from the University of South Carolina (2014), a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Missouri (2016) and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance from Shenandoah University (2020). His research focus throughout his graduate degree programs and post-graduation has revolved around the documentation and performance of American classical guitar music written between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Teaching has and continues to be an integral component to Creek’s career. He has worked privately with students of varying ages for over a decade. He has also taught privately and in group settings on behalf of institutions like the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. Creek currently holds a substantial roster of private students in Herndon, Virginia, and the surrounding areas.
Though a classical guitarist by training, Creek enjoys learning about other methods of music making. He is currently pursuing voice privately and enjoys singing various country, folk and pop songs. Creek also likes attending various classical concerts and metal shows throughout the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore areas. Outside of music, Creek enjoys spending his time with his wife and their dog, exploring the many beautiful sights and towns around Virginia.
